Mapping Safe Spaces for Women in cities

This internship will focus on study of urban safety for women in cities. The intern will conduct a literature review to build a foundational understanding of the topic, identify key urban spaces relevant to women's daily lives in the city. This will include developing qualitative research tools, collect data through observations and interviews and contribute to a final report with findings and potential recommendations for Project Unlearn.

1. Identify key academic papers, conduct literature review on gendered urban safety (India focus) and map key concerns. 2. Develop research tools such as interviews questionnaire, quick surveys and other experiments that could be implemented both online and offline in Delhi NCR. 3. Document relevant factors influencing women's safety perceptions. 4. Interviews should be conducted diverse stakeholders from different social, cultural, economic backgrounds. 5. Accurately transcribe interview data and conduct qualitative analysis to identify patterns and narratives related to women's safety understanding in the city. 6. Draft the final report with methodology, interviewees, preliminary findings from the data analysis. 7. 1. Hybrid internship for two months (students are expected to visit common places like markets, gyms etc.). 2. Candidate is expected to dedicate 18-20 hours per week. 3. You are expected to have a functional laptop of your own. 4. Understanding of Hindi and excellent written skills in English is a must for this assignment. 5.
