Chhoti Si Asha

Chhoti Si Asha (CSA) is a Chandigarh-based social enterprise that works with women from rural and underserved backgrounds to create sustainable, craft-based livelihood opportunities. We work with women who often practice craft as a hobby and support them in becoming skilled artisans through training, design inputs, and access to markets. Our work focuses on co-creating well-designed, functional products rooted in traditional crafts such as embroidery, weaving, crochet, and stitching—while building confidence, dignity, and community-led growth. CSA operates through craft-based clusters and a strong peer-to-peer learning model, enabling women to support and train one another as the organization grows. Alongside our artisan work, we run Badlaav, our after-school program for the children of our artisan community. Badlaav is a holistic mentorship initiative that supports children through academic assistance, life-skills learning, exposure visits, creative workshops, sports, career guidance, and internships. The program provides a safe, nurturing space where children are encouraged to explore their interests, build confidence, and imagine wider possibilities for their futures. Together, CSA and Badlaav work towards strengthening not just individual livelihoods, but entire families and communities.
